Our Creek!

Each spring we get run off water in our creek. This is one of the main reasons we bought the property. This year it has become a raging river. Last night we went and explored just how high it was getting.

The gentle, cascade of water has turned into a class 3 rapid section.
Look in the background there is still snow really low.
This is a natural spring that has come up out of nowhere! This is the first time we have seen water anywhere close to here. I also found a new water setting on my camera, like the effect?

Tyring to stay high and dry. There is water and mud everywhere.

We were just talking last weekend about getting the fire pit going again.
I think we are going to have to move to higher ground this weekend if we want s'mores!

This is the log bridge to get to the other part of our property and the fire pit. The tree next to the logs is usually on the bank and the bridge is over a small waterfall. Now you can't even see a level change.

Field Trip to Craters of the Moon

Kylie's field trip this year was to craters. We had a blast. It was another day of record heat. 89 in Arco and even hotter on the black rock. We did a 2 mile hike to the top of the crater to look in and then went and explored some caves.

There is a little opening in the middle of the picture and that is where we exited one of the underground tunnels. It was a tight fit for all the adults.
This was in the belly of the underground tunnel. Kylie wasn't to sure about being underground and in the dark. After we got out she thought it was a pretty cool experience.

Mackenzie, Riley, and Kylie hiking up to the crater. It was hot & dusty.

Everyone calls this the picture tree. You have to admit it looks like it was put there on purpose. Side note: Todd has a similar picture from last year. The only difference is there was snow on the ground. Yep that's right. Last year on this same hike Todd and I were battling snow drifts.

Kylie with the lava flows behind!

This is how the dog's (kids) deal with the heat.

They lay on my bed directly below the ceiling fan to cool off!
They live such a hard life.
Starting with Tink(tan pug) and going clock wise. Thor (black lab), Kat (black pug) is camouflaged, Jade (chocolate lab) and Lizzie (black, soft haired Sharpee).

What we do when it's warm!

LAVA HOT SPRINGS!!!
It was record breaking heat here Sunday, so we played hookie from church and went swimming. The pool opened last weekend to test out the new slides before the summer season. The kids loved both of the new speed slides. I guess the season passes are going to payoff.

Lexie showing off on the diving boards.

Kylie showing her tricks.

Kylie was the last one to go down. She was so scared, but she finally did it. She even went again and again.

Lexie's first time down. She was the second one to attempt the white slide. She ended up on the yellow slide and loved it more.

Todd was the very first to attempt any slide. On the yellow slide he could catch air off it.

Growing up

Todd is growing up so fast. On Sunday he wanted all his hair cut off and this is the end result, a faux hawk.

Food and Family

Saturday

SIDRA Race on Saturday!
Papa getting ready for his race! Master Class
Todd finishing his first race on his new 250.
Triston wouldn't let him sign up for the C class so it was with the big boys he rode.
He was the youngest B rider (12) and was cheered on by everyone.
He finished mid pack. I'll post results when they post them.

Triston got 1 1/2 laps before his bike broke.
He rode at the same time as Todd. He raced the A class.

Todd on the start line. It was kind of funny. He looked so tiny against all the grown men.
SIDRA is a dead engine start, so Todd had to have a step stool to reach the ground.
Todd also road the mini a class on his 150cc and got 1st.

The next weekend

We had a one weekend break then it was off to Seattle, Washington for work again. It was the first time I have been to down town. I LOVE IT. We had about 4 hours down town so we went shopping. We found a really cute mall next to the college. It had a "Jucy" Store. I got my mothers day gift and the girls got some cute swim suits. They also got a free "Jucy" pen's. They though those were the best gift ever. What's the next stop on the work schedule? Jackson for the rest of this month, then Portland, Oregon. We also got to stop in Emmett and take Grandma Great to brunch. Her and Trist love to give eachother a hard time. We had a good time with her.

Catching up!

Ok! I told you all I'm really busy, so this is going to take time to work into a constant schedule.

So what have we been up to? Well, Since I posted last we have been to Sun Valley, Ca for work. We stayed in Vegas. It was a blast. We went to the new Chris Angel show, sat in the third row on the isle AND................ on one of his illusions he switches places with an actor in the isle AND...... he ended up right next to me. Then he turned around locked eyes with me and said "did you like that?" and gave me a high five. That was the high light there. Sorry no pictures :(
